Hi everybody! Nearly 8 months without any update, but we finally have news for you now. The bad thing is that the Groovie Ghoulies have split up a while ago - the good thing is that there's a tribute CD now, with lots of bands on it covering their favourite Groovie Ghoulies song!
This one is really a must have! There are so many bands on the compilation we know personally and who are close friends to us, that we are really happy with the result. The Sonic Dolls covered Freaks On Parade, the title track of the Groovie Ghoulies' debut on Stardumb Records.
The CD is out on Kamikaze Record, comes along with a foreword by Ex-Apers guitar player Jerry and wonderful cover artwork by Stefan Tijs! If you want a copy, please drop a mail.

Happy new year everybody. Crazy but true, this is year #14 in the history of the SONIC DOLLS, and we
are really happy to be still alive. We played a great show in Rotterdam a couple of weeks ago in front
of a cool poppunk crowd!
out some fantastic pictures on Marc Gaertner's website. Thanks a lot to
everybody for coming along to one of the best clubs in Europe! We will hopefully meet you all again
in 2008!
We also moved to a new server and updated the MP3 section which was not very up to date in the past
time. You have the chance to download complete albums and singles for free now. We also added two
songs from our latest 7" YEAR OF THE SMILE on Sitzer Records, which is really doing great. To check
out the other songs get the 7" from FLIGHT13 records or Interpunk!
First shows for 2008 are confirmed, too, more soon!

2007 is the YEAR OF THE SMILE in Japan, so we decided to
name our new 4 track 7" exactly like this. Recorded by Bart El Monte, mastered by Kai Blankenberg and played by The Sonic Dolls. Four brandnew tracks, catchy and short as well on limited clear vinyl - 500 copies only. If you wanna get a copy go to flight13.com or interpunk.com. I heard that Adam at itsaliverecords.com also has some copies.
In two weeks we will play together with The Apers, Retarded, Zatopeks and many others at Waterfront in Rotterdam. Looking forward to seeing many of you there again. Maybe the Zatopeks perform their great dance again.
Finally, Eric and me want to thank all the nice people we met on the Parasites tour in September. Some of them will be in Rotterdam, too, hurray! Your're great guys!!!!! We hope we will make it to Spain and Italy with the Sonic Dolls very soon again! |

sunday. thanks for the fantastic risotto, beaver! really good stuff,
cool!
february 17th,
2006
happy new year everybody,
haha - even if it's already mid of february. we're so busy at the moment
that we don't find the time to write updates for this site, although
there is nice news. here we go:
1. we've been to the studio to record two new tracks called "Spring
Flowers" and "Bubblegum World" which will be on a split
7" with our buddies The Apers from Rotterdam on It's Alive Records
soon. The Apers also have recorded some new tunes, and the record will
be out soon. Yo!
2. we recorded a cover of the fantastic Apers song "I've fallen"
which will come out on another compilation soon.
3. we have booked the Recorder-Studio in Hamburg to record and mix the
5th Sonic Dolls album in April. yeah! no title yet, but all the songs
are ready and only need some fine-tuning.
4. we will rehearse even if it's carneval next week!
more crazy news and wicked carneval pictures soon!
december 14th, 2005
finally the sonic dolls are
to be found on myspace as well: http://www.myspace.com/sonicdolls.
yes, it does have its pros and cons. it's surely a good way to find
some long lost friends at the other end of the world, country, town
or street and it's also interesting to check out some less known bands
you would never ever hear about elsewhere - that's kind of why we're
on there. but then again, thinking of how everybody is racing for more
and more "friends" just because and how people start to believe
"hello, how are you?" or "i'm bored, yawn!" is already
serious and complete communication and how people try to push their
bands into view even more annoyingly than tv-commercials and how much
time people spend on all that... as with everything else: it's good
if it's used properly, i suppose. i found www.indiepedia.de to be pretty
interesting. you can find the sonic dolls entry here.
our impressive discography might be a curse for their servers, but it's
all on there... eric
november 1st, 2005
even if it still
looks like summer outside, we found the time to update the mp3 section.
all files were offline for a couple of month - sorry that it took so
long but now you should be able to download about 50 songs again. i
guess there will be more songs soon!
plus: we're very happy to announce the next sonic dolls gig! on december
3rd, 2005 the sonic dolls will meet the apers in cologne to rock the
fantastic sonic ballroom.

all our rotterdam friends and the awesome retarded guys which
we haven't met for a couple of years!! that was really a great
night!
the
show was so hard that peter's doctor told him it's better to go
on vacation to mallorca for 10 days. he already did. after that
short break we'll come along with some more shows and interesting
news!

time at Tour de France and to win the yellow jersey.
meanwhile the dolls
adopted a new lead singer called elvis who you can see sitting
on the chair on the left picture.
we have finished exactly 10 new songs and we are writing more
stuff soon. when eric has got off his bike and has rested his
nuts we will carry on and probably have collected enough songs
for a new album by the end of the year!

peter
and frankie are in tokyo right now. this picture shows the two "roller
coaster sushi riders" with their famous cooking teacher Le
Ck Moe Se. the two stupid punkrockers changed their instruments
against knives and she told them how to cook the poison fugu (puffer
fish).
they taught the japan people how to exterminate sake and beer (which
is pronounced "bi-ru" in japanese) and is the most popular
alcohol beverage. like in europe so there is no difference between
the cultures. japanese punkrockers carry 300 inch iros and love
songs of the dolls. that amazes us a lot!
tomo is in germany right now and plays some shows with OIRO his
other band while eric is relaxing in wood-shoe-land. we´ll
meet in the practice-room soon.
kampai means cheers! |
december 29th, 2003
we hope you all
had a great christmas, some nice days and could relax a little! unfortunately
we had to cancel all the shows for early 2004. more info on that soon,
but don't worry - the sonic dolls will not break up! we wish you all
a happy and peaceful 2004 and hope to see you all again pretty soon!
stay punk + cheers,

frankie's punkrock minidisk-recorder. although we never did record stuff
before we went to the studio this way, it sounds pretty good right now.
next step is to start writing some of the best lyrics ever.
